Animal Rescue: Help End Seal Slaughter

Seal200173 Add your name to the petition urging Prime Minister Stephen Harper to end Canada's cruel seal hunt. Please forward the petition to your friends and family.

Every year in Canada, hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals are mercilessly slaughtered for their skins, and we want you to help get this cruel practice banned by signing PETA's seal petition. Watch the video to see more.

Canadian-born Pamela Anderson has joined PETA and animal activists worldwide in condemning the hunt.

"As a proud Canadian who frequently travels abroad," says Pamela, "I am alarmed that people are starting to see Canada as a country more beholden to a pack of greedy hunters and to the seal-skin 'fashion' whims of a few countries than to the massive international outcry against such a barbaric activity."

Please sign and forward the petition today.

Have a beautiful day,

Colleen

2 Beautiful Dogs Need a Loving Home

I have a friend here in LA, CA who is in desperate need of finding a good, safe home for her two beautiful dogs. We would post some pix of the pooches, but she's packed up everything for moving, which means the hard drive that they're on.

Here is her request in her words:

I’m in a bit of a sad predicament.  I’m moving out of my 2,000 square foot home either to an apartment in L.A. or back home to Boston and NEED, NEED, NEED a good home for 2 large dogs.  Caesar is a Rottweiler/Shepherd mix (looks more rotty) and Jazzmyne is a Ban Dog (mastiff looking 135 lb. with lapdog personality).

Both dogs are older, but healthy except for Caesar beginning to lose his hearing.  I need a GOOD home.  They’re good with kids and are very agile though they are homey dogs that love just laying on the floor and enjoying the day.

I sure hope that someone can help! They sound like sweethearts.

Have a wonderful day,

Colleen

Horse Rescue: Horses for Service

Some more inspiring goodies from Daryn Kagan.com.

Girlwithponylg Today's story is about a woman rescuing abused and unwanted horses in Ohio. She bought her first pony at the age of 8 (as did I! Cinnamon!) for $50, sold it to a someone who could provide him with a good home for $100, and put the money in the bank until she found another horse to rescue. She's been rescuing horses ever since. Now she prepares these horses for a life of service as either mounted patrols or special needs services. She will only adopt horses out to homes that already have a horse to ensure that new owners understand what's involved in caring for a horse.

Check out the video.
